Hi! We are Pat and Sylvan

We have lived in the Narragansett area for over 40 years now, and still love to call it home.

 

Syl came to the Narragansett area to surf and lifeguard while Pat attended the University of Rhode Island.  During the summer of ’76 they met as servers at The Greene Inn (the last of the classic Victorian Hotels left on Ocean Road) and the rest is history!

 

Besides finding “her guy” at the Inn, Pat realized she had a knack for the hospitality industry so she changed majors and got her degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management. Sylvan (with Master’s degrees in Theatre and English) started “The Great Interplanetary Soapbox Revival Medicine Show” Vaudeville Variety Touring group with another actor and was an English Professor at Johnson & Wales. As a Real Estate investor, he opened the White Rose Real Estate company.  Together they opened The White Rose B&B which they ran for 13 successful years in the Pier.

 

Pat, with the help of Sylvan opened “Gargoyles on the Square” restaurant with her brothers in Davis Square, Somerville, MA which for 16 years herald great accolades.

We love to travel and have been extremely lucky to have been to many continents around the world as well as sailing around New England and Caribbean waters. Syl has his US Coast Guard Captain’s License and has delivered quite a few boats to the Caribbean as well as chartering the “White Rose” on Block Island.

We have “gone to the dark side” trading our sailboat for a power boat!
